Launching our new keyword difficulty scraper for indie founders
We built a keyword difficulty tool that focuses on what actually matters for small sites: finding gaps big competitors ignore.
Most keyword difficulty tools are built for enterprise sites with massive backlink profiles. They'll tell you a keyword is "hard" because the top results have 50+ linking domains. But if you're an indie founder, that's not the full picture.
Our new scraper takes a different approach. It analyzes the actual content quality and domain relevance of the top 10 results, not just raw backlink counts. A keyword might be competitive on paper but easy to crack if the top results are thin or outdated. We flag those opportunities.
I tested it on my own site and found three keywords that the standard tools said were impossible. Our scraper gave them a "medium" difficulty because the top-ranking pages were from 2019 and had no images. I wrote a fresh, detailed guide – and ranked in the top 5 within three weeks.
